Guest post by Nicola Elliott, founder and director of Neom.

It seems I’m at that age (34) where every other friend of mine is either a new mummy or is pregnant. With four little baby boys being born within the Neom team in the past 12 months too, it’s no wonder I have been surrounded by talk of eco-friendly nappies, bedtime routines and how much ‘little’ sleep we’re all getting! (Yes, my two year old wakes every morning at 5am!).

Being known as working in the beauty industry amongst my peers, I’m often asked about the best products to use during pregnancy to help with those stretch marks. I also get lots of emails at work from pregnant women wondering what, if any, essential oils are safe and good to use during pregnancy. Historically I’ve replied with “try organic safflower oil and add a drop of ylang ylang to it – it works amazingly on stretch marks”, or “add a drop of chamomile to your bath.” I thought this would be an acceptable reply, until I see the bemused look on my friend’s face, sort-of-saying; “I don’t have time to do that!”.
At Neom we created a mummy kit, the Feel Amazing Pregnancy Treats, which contains a body oil with an organic safflower base – amazing on stretch marks. I used it when I was pregnant with both my little ones, Charlie and Lexie and I swear by it.

The kit also has a bath oil and travel candle in the pregnancy scent called cocooning – a fruity blend of mandarin, ylang ylang and chamomile which is brilliant for banishing mood swings and frazzled spells. We also have a full size Cocooning Candle – the blend has been specially made to help with nausea.

I’m sure all yummy-mummies out there will not only love the scent but will really benefit from the blend of essential oils we’ve chosen – it’s also the perfect gift.
