So, by now, we’ve all made our same old new years resolutions, (“This year, I’m not going to touch a drop of wine”, “This year I’m going to give up smoking”.) and whilst these are good for our inner beauty, have you ever thought about making a new years resolution for your outer beauty? Well, this year, my resolution is to have flawless make-up all day, everyday, and here’s how I’m going to do it…

Step 1) ‘The Flawless Face’…

1. Apply a foundation that’s a good match to your natural skin tone to your cheeks, forehead and chin. Use long even strokes all the way up to your hairline and around your jaw. Try Becca’s Luminous Skin Colour foundation as it offers sun protection and it contains anti-inflammatory ingredients’ to target the occasional break out. (Remember to always use a foundation brush for perfect application, Jemma Kidd’s Pro Flat Top Foundation Brush is a must have!)

2. Next step is to apply a powder to make sure your foundation sets and stays for the day and to make sure you don’t have the dreaded shine to the face! Loose powder can be applied to your face in exactly the same way as your foundation, try out New CID i-finish Translucent Loose Powder with a large powder brush, such as Jane Iredale Kabuki Brush. Personally, I prefer pressed powder as its more convenient to go in my handbag! So if your like me, then why not give Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Ultra Smooth Pressed Powder a go?…this light and fine powder means that my face never looks ‘caked’ in make-up and it also lasts the whole day, which means quick touch ups are minimal! Carefully dab it over your face with a powder sponge, concentrating on your T-zone (be careful not to wipe it harshly over your foundation too much as it might wipe away some foundation and leave it looking uneven!).

3. If your a wearer of blush, then make sure that the colour you choose looks soft and natural (no one can pull off the slapped-in-the-face look!). Lightly dab your blusher brush (don’t forget you need a soft, big blush brush such as Jemma Kidd Pro Blusher Brush) into your blush, remembering to shake off any excess powder. Lightly suck in the insides of your cheeks to reveal the apples of your cheeks. Then, use long, gentle stokes from the apple of your cheeks to your hairline. DuWop Keep Blushing is the perfect blush for anyone with a busy lifestyle… just one application and its there for the day!
