It’s easy to take notes and listen hard to all the advice that beauty experts readily give out regarding skin care, but it’s another thing to actually put the advice into practise. So many tips can confuse and intimidate, so we’ve broken it down into four steps to show you how to brighten your skin. Soon your complexion will be glowing and you won’t be overwhelmed by too many tips and tricks to achieve this look!

Everyone notices great looking skin and seeing bright, clear skin in your reflection can help make you feel the world of good – an instant confidence booster. You do have to start from the inside, but team it alongside products that really work on the outside and you can achieve beautiful skin quickly.

1.Water

Your skin is your body’s largest organ and it needs to be hydrated as much as possible. Unfortunately, your favourite caffeinated drinks and that cheeky glass of wine in the evening do not count!

H2O, aqua, eau, vepo, water, whatever you want to call it,  you need to drink it and at least a litre of it a day. It makes a massive difference as your skin will be dry because it’s thirsty. Herbal tea is also great way to increase your intake so be sure to check out delicious herbals such as Pukka Tea.

Rosehip tea is full of vitamin C, which is important for the immune system, skin and tissue health. Also, Green tea has a lot of beneficial properties, one being that it cleanses your body from the inside which will help to brighten your skin.

2. Exfoliate

Your skin is renewing itself all the time, but how can your new skin cells glow with all the dead debris covering them up? Have a good body scrub every morning, making sure you use an exfoliator suitable for your skin type and one that is not too harsh.

Burt’s Bees Anti-Blemish Pore Refining Scrub contains salicylic acid which works deep into your pores to remove dirt and the jojoba beads gently cleanse dead skin cells away. Jojoba beads are round which means they don’t scratch the surface of your skin and won’t leave your face bright red after exfoliating – a look that needs to be avoided when it comes to exfoliation.

3. Cleanse, tone and moisturise – your daily skin care mantra

This is an important step that is made up of three parts – cleanse, tone and moisturise should become your daily mantra if it isn’t already so. Cleanse with Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm for a clean, smooth and supple face. The Moringa seed extract, wild sea fennel and vitamin E purifies skin and minimises the size of pores.Ensure to tone your skin as it completes the cleansing process. Any lingering impurities left on your skin will be swept away, including any residue left from the cleanser. Dr Hauschka Facial Toner will polish your skin with its herbal blend of anthyllis and witch hazel extracts. This gentle toner will leave your skin fresh and bright, ready for the final stage of facial skin care.

Moisturise with products like Korres Wild Rose Serum for Brightening & Illuminating for the day. You can even use it as an extra boost underneath your night cream in the evening as it works such wonders!. This product smells gorgeous, and it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and instantly adds a glow. Plus this serum is gentle enough to use around the eyes so there’s no need for a separate eye cream!

Once you get into the routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising everyday, you will notice nothing else gives the you same effect. It can seem a hassle if you’re used to using face wipes, but when it comes to getting brighter skin, effort does have to be made.

4. Brightening Mask

If you have worked the previous steps into your routines perfectly, then it is time for you to try a brightening mask to highlight the brightness coming through. A mask will draw out impurities a cleanser can’t get to and give your skin that extra boost to turn you positively radiant! Always check the instructions of your product, but a brightening mask can usually be used one to two times a week.

There are two brightening masks currently leading the market and making waves in skincare. Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Mask is packed with vitamin C that helps refresh the skin and vitamin B5 that help reduce fine lines and blemishes. This mask is really refreshing and hydrating making it a definite must-have in the toiletry bag for a quick fix.

Decleor Aroma White C+ Intense Brightening Mask Sachets will leave your skin instantly brighter. Decleor offer professional treatments and have brought out this handy mask that you can drape on your face in the comfort of your own home. These concentrated fabric masks improve the skin’s radiance, and pigment spots are tackled with extracts of peony, saxifrage and vitamin C. Your luminous complexion is only a fabric mask away!

After a few weeks of this brightening regime, you will notice a huge difference in your skin and you’ll find yourself spreading the word of this regime to your friends. It turns out that figuring out how to brighten your skin only really needs these four easy steps, so be sure to give it a go and see how it makes
