I normally tend to stick to my favourite bright pink/red shades when I paint my nails but this winter I have been experimenting with darker colours and I absolutely love this vampy deep wine colour from Butter London. Part of the Butter London Red Family, Its a great sophisticated shade and you make it as dark as you require with the more coats you apply.
Firstly I filed my nails with my Butter London Banana Nail File (these currently have 10% off!) and then I applied a basecoat. I always use a basecoat when using dark colours to prevent staining my nails. I then applied La Moss, in three thick coats. You may only want to apply two coats for a lighter result but I preferred the darkened coverage that three coats gave. I then applied a topcoat to give a glossy finish and help to prolong my manicure. Essie 3 Way Glaze is a favourite of mine as its a basecoat, topcoat and nail hardener all in one and leaves nails with a incredibly high gloss finish.
This weekend I also saw the new Butter London Spring/Summer 2012 Collection that is due in to us very soon. With names like Trout Pout and Disco Biscuit I can’t wait to get my hands on these hot new shades! Further details coming soon…
