My name is Laura and I’m a product hoarder.
As you can see, a small (okay maybe quite a large) chunk of my wages go on skin and haircare goodies every month. From perfume to body lotion, cleanser to moisturiser, foundation to nail polish, you can be sure I have (at least) three of each to choose from!
But which ones will I be buying again? Below, I have reviewed five products that have really impressed me and that I will definitely be staying loyal to.
1. Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water
Okay so hands up… who finds the process of taking off your makeup, then cleansing then toning then moisturising boring? If so, let me introduce to you this cleansing water by Nuxe. I only brought this because the cleanser I usually buy was out of stock and I was running dangerously low, and I am very glad that I did.
Firstly, not only is it a cleanser but also a makeup remover (bye-bye face wipes). It does not need rinsing (yes, you can do this whilst you are in bed) and if that wasn’t good enough, there is no need to tone your skin afterwards! Let me explain. Basically whilst cream cleansers wipe away the dirt from your face, and a toner removes any dirt that is left, micellar cleansers suck it all up in one go. It is also gentle enough to use around the eyes and lips so no need to worry if you wear mascara and lipstick. Need I say anymore?
2. Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream
I have already written a blog about Dr. Hauschka but I think this day cream deserves another mention. I have tried lots of other moisturisers since and none have come close. This thick, creamy, luxurious cream is designed for someone who has dry skin but can be used on nearly every skin type.
It was voted Dr. Hauschka’s 2012 Peoples Hero Product, was a Beauty Shortlist 2012 finalist, is 100% natural, and is one of our bestsellers at Bath & Unwind. Read our customers reviews here.
3. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme
I must admit, at first I didn’t LOVE this product. I put that down to the fact that when I first tried it I had extremely damaged hair, (we are talking about hair that was coming out in my fingers damaged.)
Now my hair is healthy again I can really appreciate the results I get from using Elasticizer Extreme. Just apply a small amount to damp hair before shampooing, rinse it out, wash and style your hair like normal, then swish your hair about… you will feel like you are in an advert. This really will make your hair stupidly shiny like you see on the TV!
4. Green & Spring Rich Night Cream
Up until recently I was a night cream virgin. This was because I tend to use such rich day creams I figured I could just use them at night as well. Then, at our Give & Make Up sale I saw this and thought it was a great excuse to give night cream a go.
Firstly I want to say, this cream smells gorgeous. The first night I used it, I was literally sniffing my bed sheets and my hair, before I remembered I was trying out a new product on my face! Secondly, the texture did not disappoint. It is lovely and thick, yet it absorbs into the skin wonderfully. Lastly, I found a noticeable difference in the condition of my skin the morning after using this. It always leaves my skin feeling soft, pampered and very well looked after. So, I think it’s safe to say that I was wrong about night creams. There is a point to them, and I think this one full of British ingredients is divine.
5. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant
This is the product that I can’t live without. I have been using it since I was young because my gran (who is also obsessed with beauty products) always used to give me this from her value gift set. I often get dry breakouts on my face and I find nothing more comforting then rubbing Eight Hour Cream all over it. This all-purpose cream is mainly used to soothe chapped, cracked and dry skin, although it works wonders on your lips (chapped or not) and helps ease minor skin irritation, including sunburn. And one tube of this will last you well over a year even if you use it as often as I do.
If you have any questions about any of these products feel free to send me an email at [email protected] where I will be happy to help you further. Happy shopping!
