Why I love OPI

Wow – what an amazing first couple of weeks I’ve had at Bath & Unwind HQ! There’s been so much to learn, lots of new faces and names to remember and, most importantly, lots of new beauty brands to get acquainted with.

One brand I didn’t have to get to know is OPI, as I have been a dedicated follower of their collections for years. Their incredible Ogre-the-Top Blue for the 2010 Shrek collection is still one of my favourite shades.

OPI is one of the most established nail varnish brands in the world and I can understand why. From the amazing array of colours, to the sleek bottle and excellent brush, to the quirky branding. Yes, you can tell I’m a fan! I love how OPI draw inspiration from popular culture and countries of the world, creating truly individual colour palettes that are not mere imitations of the colours we see on the catwalk.

The latest collection, inspired by the new Spider-Man film, is no exception. It took me ages to decide which ones I would try, so I decided to go for the Amazing Spider-Man Mini Pack to try out a few of the colours. If there’s one I really love, I’ll get the full size bottle! Here are the results:

This is a wonderful collection of jewelled tones. The clear office favourite is Just Spotted the Lizard, an insect inspired two tone green-gold. It reminds me of a bluebottle fly or a beetle!

I can reveal we are going to be stocking the Vintage Minnie Mouse Summer 2012 collection which is now available to pre-order. I know I’m getting my reservation in now!
