When we launched our Boo Boo skincare range, my friend Corinna and I had just had our second children. I was tearing my hair out because I couldn’t find a natural nappy cream that really worked. As a former beauty writer, I knew all about effective skincare ingredients and what I did and did not want to use. On my absolute no-no list is sodium lauryl sulphate which can be drying and irritating on young skin. My next thought was, why not create our own range?
Our very first product was Soothing Bottom Butter and it’s still one of our biggest sellers. Why? Because it works! It has a high concentration of zinc oxide combined with soothing lavender oil. A tiny dab goes a long long way and we have mums (and the midwives from Great Ormond Street) who swear by it (and also tells us it works a treat on sunburn and grazes too!).
As with all our products, we refuse to use parabens, sulphates and petrochemicals which can irritate and dry your little one’s skin. We were so pleased to win the gold award for Best Baby Skincare Range at the prestigious Mother & Baby Awards recently, which is voted for by parents.
But don’t forget to look after yourself too; if your baby is still a bump then pampering yourself with the very best, natural skincare is a must. We’ve found that using traditional, pampering ingredients works best – start each morning with Silky Soft Body Wash with white water lily, ginger and peppermint. It leaves skin super silky and is fab at keeping morning sickness at bay. While your skin is still damp, smooth on Soft & Creamy Body Smoother and Miracle Oil to see off stretch marks and stay moisturised. Your body is working so hard, so you deserve to treat it. Even better, drop some serious hints to your significant other to treat you to our Luxury Mummy Spa Kit!
Watch out for some gorgeous new goodies arriving from us at Bath & Unwind very soon – we’ll soon be renaming the range Love Boo to incorporate goodies for children and products to get your body back in shape after having your baby! Happy pampering!
