We caught up with Elemental Herbology founder Kristy, to find out how she gives herself an at-home facial…
Kristy Cimesa’s at-home facial
Externally and internally generated toxic debris builds up outside the cells in the extracellular space, resulting in diminished absorption of nutrients, degradation of the cells and slower cellular metabolism. The signs of transition from youth to old age can be attributed to declining hydration and collagen levels, but also increased metabolic waste.
Therefore it is essential to regularly purify, shed dead skin cells, improve circulation and stimulate cellular metabolism via a weekly exfoliation and purifying detox mask. I highly recommend a weekly home facial for maximum effect. This will result in increased absorption of the ingredients contained in your moisturisers and serums.
Step 1 – Steam
Steam the face with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water. Compress onto the skin and hold for at least 5 seconds.
Step 2 – Cleanse
Apply an oil-rich cleansing balm with a gentle exfoliating action. Remove cleanser with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water.
Step 3 -Shed
Remove dead surface cells to vanish dry skin and stimulate new cell metabolism. Facial Glow combines apple serum, kombucka, pearl powder, manuka honey, pomegranate, argan, macadamia oil, olive oil, zinc, magnesium, copper, water lily and vitamins A, C and E to improve the skin’s texture and tone, creating a healthy and glowing complexion.
Apply a thin layer of Facial Glow radiance peel from décolleté to forehead. Massage into the skin using small, gentle, circular movements. Do not scrub. Leave on for 4-5 minutes and remove with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water. Pat dry.
Step 4 – Detox
Apply a thin layer of Facial Detox Mask to congested areas and leave for a maximum of 10 minutes. Again, remove with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water. Pat dry.
Thanks Kristy!
