I think I have an addiction to natural tinted lip balms. I didn’t realise it until I counted the number of lip balms on my desk this morning (violating our clear desk policy at the same time!). I may have many, but I really do use them all; they each have a slightly different shade and texture and I love them for different reasons.
My newest addition is by Yes To and was a sneaky preview of their brand new range of Colour Balms. This one is Rosy Bloom and although subtle, is perfect for me, as I like just a hint of colour. The texture is really creamy and moisturising and I love using it when I have dry lips – which is most of the time.
I have a soft spot for Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms – I have two: Red Dahlia and Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a lovely subtle pink I wear during the day, and Red Dahlia is a deeper red, perfect for a night out. Like Yes To, the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms are really creamy and great to use if you suffer from dry lips like me. You won’t get that horrible effect of colour finding its way into the cracks of your lips.
Another Burt’s Bees purchase of mine is their Lip Shimmer in Peony. The added peppermint oil gives a refreshing tingle and I love the light shimmer it gives.
My collection wouldn’t be complete without a little something from Korres. I always keep a pot of Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate in my desk drawer. I love the colour, but although the texture is fairly moisturising, it is a little drier than my other balms so I save this for good-lip-days or use it with a touch of Jurlique Love Balm for extra softness.
